To ensure optimal therapy for your sleep apnea, it's essential to clean your CPAP equipment regularly. This includes the mask, air tubing, and humidifier tub, as proper maintenance helps maintain effectiveness and hygiene.
Cleaning Supplies You’ll Need:
A sink or tub
Warm, drinking-quality water (86°F/30°C)
Mild liquid detergent
A clean towel
Cleaning your CPAP mask cushion, frame & headgear

Disconnect your CPAP machine from the power source.
Disconnect the mask and air tubing from the CPAP machine.
Separate the mask into three components: headgear, cushion, and frame. Please note:The cushion should be cleaned daily, while the headgear and frame can be cleaned weekly.
Using a sink or tub, wash the mask cushion and headgear with a mild liquid detergent and warm, drinking-quality water to remove oils.
Avoid using harsh cleaning products that may damage the mask or leave unwanted residues.
Rinse both items thoroughly with warm, drinking-quality water.
Lay the cushion and frame on a clean towel to dry, ensuring they are not exposed to direct sunlight.
Air tubing cleaning tips

Disconnect your CPAP machine from the power source.
Unplug the air tubing from both your mask and CPAP machine.
In a sink or tub, wash the inside and outside of the air tubing using mild dishwashing liquid and warm, drinking-quality water. Avoid stronger cleaners or harsh detergents, as these can damage the tubing or leave harmful residues.
Rinse thoroughly with warm, drinking-quality water.
Lay the air tubing flat on a towel to dry. Ensure it is not placed in direct sunlight.
Humidifier tub cleaning tips
Daily cleaning tips:
Disconnect your CPAP machine from the power source.
Disconnect the humidifier tub from your CPAP machine.
Empty the tub and use a clean, disposable cloth to wipe it down thoroughly. Let it air dry, away from direct sunlight.
Ensure that the humidifier tub remains clean, clear, and free of any discoloration.
Weekly cleaning tips:
Once a week, soak your humidifier tub in warm water with a mild dishwashing liquid, or use a solution made of 1 part vinegar and 9 parts water at room temperature..
After soaking, rinse the humidifier tub thoroughly with warm, drinking-quality water.
Place the humidifier tub on a flat surface, resting on a towel, to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight.
