Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder where a person's breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. It typically happens when the muscles in the throat relax too much, blocking the airway. There are two main types:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): Caused by airway blockage due to throat muscles relaxing.
Central Sleep Apnea: Occurs when the brain fails to send the proper signals to control breathing.
SNORING
Snoring is a common issue that occurs when airflow through the mouth or nose is partially blocked during sleep, causing the tissues in the throat to vibrate. While snoring itself is often harmless, it can be a sign of an underlying issue like sleep apnea or nasal obstruction.
SLEEP DEPRIVATION
Sleep deprivation happens when you don’t get enough rest, leading to both short-term and long-term health issues. It can cause difficulty concentrating, mood swings, and increase the risk of conditions like heart disease and obesity. Common causes include poor sleep habits, sleep disorders like sleep apnea, or underlying health issues.
Positional Sleep Apnea
Positional sleep apnea occurs when sleep apnea episodes are influenced by the sleeper's body position, typically worsening when lying on the back. In this position, the airway is more prone to collapse, leading to obstructive sleep apnea.
